A few words from my hero Jim Ladd, the last freeform rock DJ on America’s corporate airwaves.
When this man speaks of liberty and freedom, he speaks from the heart…and from experience.
So if you’re looking for a little happiness, you’ll find it at 95.5FM on your radio dial (in Los Angeles) or streaming live at http://myspace.com/jimladd in the rest of the world. Open your mind and enjoy!:)

I was blessed to have lived in SoCal when Jim worked at KMET and then KLOS. Like they say, you don’t know what ya got till ya don’t got it. I have never found another DJ who understood the connection that happens between the listener and the spinner of dreams. It was like he was sitting right next to you, having a conversation through music. I swear he could read your mind. Then to see him live on stage with my other hero, Roger Waters, on the Radio KAOS tour was like dying and going to heaven. I’ll never forget it, and I’ll never forget the great days and nights listening to “Da Man”, Jim Ladd. I’m a dreamer, too. And my dream would be that there could be more free-flying, open-minded, 1st amedment loving DJ’s like Jim. Maybe someday…

Eagle Eye, you were a lucky guy…to be living in L.A. during the golden years of “the Mighty Met” KMET-FM sounds like a little slice of heaven on earth to me.
I managed to make it to L.A. for the first time back in 1986, and was fortunate enough to hear the last two weeks of KMET’s programming before they went off the air forever.
For several years after that, I could only hear Jim Ladd on KLOS when I was visiting Los Angeles. Now thanks to the wonders of internet technology, I can listen to him every night.
What a national treasure this man is. Only now is he finally getting some recognition as a pioneering broadcaster. Jim was recently inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame and finally got a star on Hollywood Boulevard!:)
